Hello! I am Tianna but everyone calls me T, and I have always had a passion for animals. Although I am an owner to just two cats (Cosmo and Peppino), I have always had a strong love and care for dogs. Whenever friends, family, or anyone needs an animal sitter, I am the girl to ask! When I am not with animals, I enjoy spending my time outdoors in nature or making video edits of my most recent adventures. As I also work in the field of media management, I aspire to dive further in this field as I graduate in December 2022. Ultimately, seeking to work in both media and animal care full-time.

A new set of Group Puppy Classes is starting soon!

These puppy training classes are geared towards young puppies only as their unique needs are very different from an adult. This introductory level introduces several basic foundation commands such as sit, down, stay, come, leave it, watch me so that you can build the foundation of communication with your puppy and have him on the right path to good behaviour all around.

We also discuss important topics like potty training, crate training, general health, nutrition, grooming, nipping, chewing and jumping because we know these are common topics that new puppy owners have lots of questions about.

Most importantly we cover critical human and dog socialization skills which is your #1 defence against your puppy becoming a fearful or aggressive adult dog.

I don’t believe in giving out quick advice. If you want my advice, I need commitment out of you long-term. That’s the only way to actually make true progress. I believe any experienced dog trainer would tell you it’s pretty difficult to give specific advice that’s actually helpful without taking the time to get to know the full story and dog…and owner for that matter. However, if you would like an Instant tip to improve your dog's behaviour and your relationship, working on improving these three categories every day is an excellent place to start…

1- Stimulate/challenge their brain
2- Exercise their body
3- Offer a social activity (no that doesn’t mean the dog park! It means get out of the usual house/ yard/routine and go on an outing/adventure appropriate to your dogs needs.)

With Thanksgiving right around the corner it is important to not only visit with family, eat, and have fun, but we have to remember to keep our fur babies safe with all the hustle and bustle.
Here are a few ways to keep your furry family members safe:

🦃 Don't feed your pets foods that are bad for them such as garlic, onions, chocolate, raisins, uncooked turkey, and turkey skin and bones.
🦃 Ask your dinner guests to not feed your pet.
🦃 Try to supervise your pet at all times.
🦃 Have a safe and comfortable place for your pet to retreat to. If your pet is crate trained then it may be a good idea to keep them in their crate while you are entertaining visitors.
🦃 Ensure all decorations are pet-proof, Some popular toxic plants/flowers are:
Autumn Crocus, Chrysanthemum, Amaryllis, Sweet William, and Lilies.

I know, most people don’t like waking up any ear

I know, most people don’t like waking up any earlier than they have to, but there are many benefits to being an early riser. If your work schedule keeps you away from your dog for a large portion of the day, extra effort on your part is required to fulfill his needs so that he can handle the extra downtime. A nice long walk after work is lovely, but I highly recommend a before work morning activity as well. Remember he’s just slept all night and now you’re going to expect him to sleep all day? The extra time you put into setting your alarm a little earlier will be well worth it I promise. A nice walk, some training time, or even a great game of fetch in the backyard will be well appreciated. Go to bed a few minutes earlier, get up a few minutes earlier, and make this your daily routine. Make it work. You owe it to your dog --

Manners and Basics: 5 sessions plus 1 year of grou

Manners and Basics: 5 sessions plus 1 year of group training support

This option is suitable for clients with dogs 6 months or older with little to no training who are looking to have their dog be introduced to, or advance, a variety of basic obedience commands, household manners, and the kind of leash walking your neighbours will be jealous of!

This program is also suitable for clients who have dogs with minor to moderate behavioural issues that may include such things as, but not limited to,: having your dog behave better at the door around guests, gaining a more reliable recall (come when called), improve outdoor listening/manners, and overall have your dog generally behave better.

What YOUR program consists of will be discussed and decided between you and the Trainer. These are just common suggestions.

After your 5 private custom coaching sessions are complete you are ready to join the K9 Club! We understand training takes TIME and we are here to support you throughout your journey

This is a great boredom buster: Take a big piece

This is a great boredom buster:

Take a big piece of paper and cut it up into small bits. On each paper write an activity that you and your dog could do together. Place all your small papers into an “activity jar” and choose one every day, or as often as you’re able to.

You could also use the same idea for training commands, writing one command/task to focus on that day.

If you think putting ANY collar or harness on your dog makes it automatically walk nice then putting a snowboard on your feet must make you a good snowboarder, right?

No?! why not?? Ohhhh I have to learn to snowboard you say? By practicing?! What?!!! What if I just get a different snowboard? Surely that would help!

What your dog wears does not do the job alone so stop buying everything on the market and saying "it's not working". It's not magic. It's the combination of the choice of "tool" (in this case a collar or harness) and the skill level of the person at the end of the leash managing the dog.

Can a change of tool help? In many cases, absolutely! But don't heavily rely on that. Know that no matter what your choice is, the biggest influence is YOUR skill set in managing your dog.

The training needs to go to the human first, and trickle down to the dog. Save yourself the headache, wasted time and money and ask a trainer for help.
